Michigan’s indoor water parks offer visitors a brief fling with summer, even as winter drags on. Go for the day, or stay overnight—and find some deals, too. Here are parks, big and small:

Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark at Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa

Michigan’s biggest water park at 88,000 square feet, is part of the pretty Boyne ski resort. It features 11 rides, slides and pools, including the four-lane slide Mat Racer and surf simulator. A day pass is $20-$53, depending on age, day and time. Tickets are available online. Call about spring break Splashtacular lodging/water park packages.

Double JJ Resort Gold Rush Water Park

The spacious 60,000-square-foot water park has the Miner’s Plunge two-person water slide, a whitewater raft ride, wave pool and more. Day passes are $20-$25 and there are discounts some Fridays and Sundays. Call about Splash lodging/water park packages and water park hours.

Great Wolf Lodge

Some 38,000 square feet of fun, including a four-story tandem tube ride. There are no day passes—only resort guests are allowed. Call about the More Fun for Less and Early Saver lodging/water park packages.

Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Hotel

This 33,000-square-foot indoor water park’s newest attraction is “iSlide,” which lets you customize light and sound as you float. A day pass is $20-$35, depending on the day and time. Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark

This facility has two indoor water parks with a six-story family raft ride and a Super Loop speed slide. Day passes are $31 and up and are available online. Call about the resort’s Splashtastic lodging/water park packages.
