Snowflakes and romance go hand in hand with a good glass of wine, Michigan wineries know. Here are some spectacular ways to be part of the winter wine fun.

Snowshoe, Vines and Wines (Snowy Saturdays through March 16, plus Feb. 17)

Wineshoeing (Feb. 9)

Chateau Chantal 2019 Cooking Classes (Feb. 9 & 23 and March 9, 16 and 23)

Six different classes will be offered, including the yummy-sounding “Soak it Up with Bread.” It’s $95 per course and includes the meal and wine at the Old Mission Peninsula winery., 231-223-4110.

Taste the Passion (Feb. 9-10)

This festival at 24 wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula includes wine tastings, sweet and savory bites, pop-up shopping, prizes and more. $40 for the two-day event and $23 for a designated driver., 231-642-5550.

Corks & Canvas! (Feb. 10)

At Domaine Berrien Cellars in Berrien Springs, a painter guides participants to paint a winter scene while they sip wine. $35., 269-473-9463.

Romancing the Riesling (Feb. 16)

This Old Mission Peninsula festival celebrates Michigan’s best-known wine. Includes a Riesling sampling and small bites at nine wineries. $30 in advance, $35 day of and $25 for a designated driver., 800-969-4009.

Vino-Tines (Feb. 16-17)

This Valentines deal at Fenn Valley Vineyards in Fennville (near Saugatuck) is $40 per couple which includes wine, cheese, truffles, a rose and seating in a private area., 269-561-2396.

Snowshoe, Wine & Brew (Sundays through March 3)

The Traverse City Brew Bus tour starts and ends at Jolly Pumpkin, proceeds to Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, then participants snowshoe to Bowers Harbor Vineyards. $28 and includes wine, hard cider and beer. Snowshoe rental is $15., 231-715-1287.

Sips, Chips and Dips (March 23)
