In honor of the centennial of Finland’s independence in 2017, Cranbrook Art Museum in suburban Detroit celebrates Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen and his wife Loja, a textile artist, and their contributions to design. “Finland 100: The Cranbrook Connection” runs through January 14, 2018. Also on the campus, guided tours of Saarinen’s jewel of an Art Deco home are offered through November. (Please note: the home is not wheelchair accessible, and children must be eight and up to enter.)
